This trail is part of the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail. The McKenzie River creates the Sahalie and Koosah Falls. Sahalie Falls is just past the trailhead. You have good photo spots at the beginning of the trail and also good vantage points about 15 minutes past the trailhead.
Koosah Falls is about a 30-minute hike from the trailhead. There are some nice views of the river valley and the whitewater from the trail.
Directions from Sisters, OR
- Take Hwy-20 west for about 26 miles
- Go over the Santiam Pass
- Left at Hwy-20/22 junction and drive about 3 miles
- Left at Hwy-126 towards Eugene
- Pass Clear Lake
- At Milepost 6 turn into the Sahalie parking lot
- Take the trail clockwise

Cyclists must dismount and walk bicycles on the east side of the loop between Koosah and Sahalie Falls Viewpoints.
